<reviewbody>A curiosity of Jacques Tourneur ("Cat People" , "I Walked with a Zombie", "The Leopard Man", "Night of the Demon") and Mario Bava ("The Girl Who Knew Too Much", "The Body and the Whip", "Fashion House of Death", "Diabolik")

Unfortunately, this copy is in Pan and scan, which wastes
the work of the director of the photography Mario Bava.

<reviewbody>This has to be one of the very best of the Italian-made historical spectaculars, what we used to call spaghetti westerns although that term has a different meaning today. Now they're called sword and sandal movies, but I digress. saw many of them at Saturday matinées back in the late '50's and early '60's. Most were quite forgettable, but exciting for a kid. I found 'The Giant of Marathon' enjoyable for stirring memories. Could have done without the buffalo shots though they're a hazard in movies like this one.

I downloaded the avi file. Video and audio are fine. The Eastman color is still good. A very good rip.
